Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how [Legal Entity Name] (“LoreBook”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit LoreBook at lorebook.ai and app.lorebook.ai (the “Service”).

This Policy works together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

1. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies (and similar technologies like pixels or web beacons) are small data files placed on your device by websites you visit. LoreBook also uses your browser’s local storage and session storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. Throughout this Policy, we refer to cookies and these storage mechanisms together as “cookies and similar technologies.”

2. Categories of cookies and storage we use

Necessary cookies and storage

Required for site security, login sessions, and detecting abuse. These cannot be turned off without disabling core functionality. They include:

  • Cookies set by our CDN and security provider (Cloudflare) for security, bot protection, and routing.
  • Browser storage that keeps you signed in (lorebook_token) and supports short-lived sign-in flows (for example Facebook OAuth state in session storage).
  • Short-lived session storage used for app performance (for example cached settings or project lists during your visit).

Functional and preference storage

Remembers your settings to personalize your experience — for example theme (day/night paper), interface language, typewriter sound preference, and your last login email for convenience. These are stored in your browser’s local storage, not as HTTP cookies.

Analytics cookies

We do not use analytics cookies today. We do not run Google Analytics or similar page-tracking tools on the Service.

Marketing cookies

We do not use marketing cookies today. We do not set advertising or conversion-tracking cookies, and we do not allow third-party ad networks to track you across the Service.

3. Your choices

Because LoreBook uses only necessary cookies and functional browser storage today, we do not display a cookie consent banner. If we introduce non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this Policy and obtain consent where required by law.

You can control cookies and storage through your browser settings. Disabling or clearing cookies and site data may sign you out, reset your theme and language preferences, or prevent parts of the Service from working properly.

Common browser help pages for managing cookies:

We do not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.

4. Cookie and storage table

5. Third-party cookies

Some cookies may be set by third-party partners that help us operate the Service:

  • Cloudflare — security and performance cookies on our domains, as described above.
  • Google and Facebook (Meta) — when you choose social sign-in, those providers may set cookies on their own domains during the login flow. LoreBook does not control those cookies; see each provider’s privacy policy.

We do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies on the Service today.

6. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when we change how we use cookies or similar technologies — for example, if we add analytics or marketing tools. We will post the current version at lorebook.ai/cookies. Material changes will be announced on the Service or by other reasonable means.
