Publication Terms / Author Agreement
These Publication Terms (“Publication Terms”) apply when you choose to publish a work on read.lorebook.ai through LoreBook (“we”, “us”, or “our”). They supplement our Terms of Service and Public Content Standards.
1. Private by default; explicit publication
Your projects, drafts, Codex, Beacon conversations, and unpublished revisions remain private. LoreBook makes content publicly available only when you deliberately complete the publication flow in the app. Publishing applies only to the version and public information identified in that flow; later private edits remain private until you publish an update.
2. Eligibility
You may write privately under the age requirements in our Terms of Service. You must be 18 years of age or older to publish publicly on LoreBook Read. By publishing, you confirm you meet this requirement.
3. Ownership
You retain any copyright and other rights you possess in your work. LoreBook does not guarantee copyright protection or exclusivity for AI-generated material. You are responsible for reviewing AI output and determining whether it may lawfully be published.
4. Public publication license
When you publish, you grant LoreBook a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license limited to:
- hosting, reproducing, formatting, and publicly displaying the published snapshot;
- creating technical copies, previews, and accessible formats;
- distributing the work through LoreBook pages, feeds, search, CDN, and service providers;
- displaying the title, cover, description, pen name, tags, and short excerpts to promote or help readers discover the work.
This license permits sublicensing only to infrastructure, search, moderation, and distribution providers acting for these purposes. It does not authorize selling your work, training generalized AI models on it, licensing it to unrelated third parties, or creating unrelated derivative works.
The public license ends when you unpublish, except for reasonable cache expiry, backups, legal preservation, and copies already distributed outside LoreBook’s control.
5. Author warranties
By publishing, you confirm that:
- you are authorized to publish the submitted content;
- the content does not unlawfully infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other rights;
- factual claims about identifiable people are lawful and supportable;
- the work complies with the Public Content Standards;
- disclosures about AI assistance and third-party material are accurate where required.
6. Platform rights
LoreBook may classify, label, restrict, unpublish, or remove published content under these policies; preserve evidence where required; and suspend repeat or serious violators. Decisions remain subject to notice, reasons, and appeal routes described in our Notice-and-Action Policy and Appeals Policy.
7. Unpublishing
You may unpublish at any time from project settings. Unpublishing removes the work from ordinary access on LoreBook Read, public APIs, search, feeds, and future sitemaps, subject to cache expiry and legal retention limits described in our Privacy Policy.
